Academia
The Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Delta Gamma is committed to academic achievement and cultural enrichment. For the Spring 2007 semester, our Chapter's average GPA was 3.4, the HIGHEST of all Panhellenic Sorority's and Fraternity's at Loyola Marymount. DG won the highest chapter cumulative GPA for the past 2006-2007 academic school year.
Study Hours
Delta Gamma holds study hours in an on-campus classroom three nights a week. The women are often organized by their particular areas of study and can talk to seniors with their majors for registration guidance and homework assistance.
Nominate a Professor
In an attempt to promote a positive image of Delta Gamma in the academic community, the women select a member of the LMU faculty as the "Professor of the Month." The professor is presented with a hand-written card expressing Delta Gamma's appreciation, which includes personalized praise taken directly from the nomination form, as well as a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Scholarship Awards
Each semester Delta Gamma presents awards to the girls with the highest GPA's for their pledge class at chapter meeting. Also, each month there is a drawing for a prize from the DG "skippy Jar" where women who have not skipped class all week can put their name on a piece of paper and place it in the jar. |
