The Blind Children’s Center in Los Angeles serves children from birth to school age who are blind or severely visually impaired. The Center serves more than 100 children and their families in the surrounding area, most of which come from working, low- income economic circumstances. The Center’s goal is to provide a program of specialized education and training free of charge to the families, which will optimize the blind or visually impaired child’s development and opportunities to lead a meaningful and productive life.
The Center is entirely funded by philanthropic support specifically from Delta Gamma. Through philanthropic fundraisers such as Anchor Splash®, Delta Gamma raises thousands of dollars each year which goes directly to the center and keeps it running. But, not only do Delta Gamma’s raise money, but they also give thousands of hours of their time each year to volunteer at the Blind Children’s Center and make a difference in the lives of many of the children there. Delta Gamma’s motto to “Do Good” goes beyond philanthropic events inside of the Fraternity, but outside of it as well. Delta Gamma continues every year to hold up the values and tradition that our founders based our Fraternity on.
